Project Details
Handling history requires extreme caution and respect. The restoration of this 19th-century historic palace in London was a journey through time. Our goal was to preserve the archaeological character while upgrading the building for modern requirements.
Diagnosis & Documentation
Work began with 3D laser scanning to document every detail of ornaments and columns. We discovered serious structural cracks requiring urgent intervention without harming the ornate exterior walls.
Restoration Process
- Foundation Reinforcement: We used micro-injection techniques to strengthen the soil and old stone foundations.
- Ornament Restoration: Specialized craftsmen re-carved missing plaster and wood parts using the same traditional materials and techniques.
- Invisible Modernization: HVAC, electrical, and fire systems were integrated completely hidden behind false ceilings and floors to maintain aesthetic integrity.
Historical Value
We successfully restored the palace to its former glory. The project won an excellence award in heritage conservation and now serves as a museum and cultural center.
